Where Are Polymarket Perps Available? Country Eligibility (2026)

Polymarket Perps launched broadly on September 3, 2026 — perpetual futures with up to 20x leverage on crypto, indices, commodities and single stocks. The first question that matters is not fees or leverage: it's whether you can trade them at all. Eligibility is decided by where you are, and the restrictions for Perps are different from (and stricter than) the ones on Polymarket's prediction markets. Here is the country picture, sourced from Polymarket's official documentation as of September 2026.

The quick answer

Blocked from Perps order placement entirely (per docs.polymarket.com/perps, geographic restrictions): United States, Canada, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, and the Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk regions. If you are physically in one of these, you can view Perps market data, but the platform will not accept your orders.

Restricted on the main Polymarket platform (separate rules that still affect you, since Perps live inside a Polymarket account): the United Kingdom is close-only — existing positions can be closed but new ones can't be opened, which means new UK users can't practically onboard into Perps — and Australia is blocked, along with a longer list of close-only jurisdictions in Polymarket's geoblock documentation.

Everywhere else: if your country appears on neither list, Perps are available to you. Among the regions we see most in our own readership, France, Germany, Singapore, Brazil and Hong Kong are all outside the restricted lists as of this writing.

What "blocked" actually means

Polymarket enforces Perps restrictions at order submission, not just at signup. That has a practical consequence people miss: someone in a blocked region can create an account, browse Perps, sometimes even deposit — and only discover the wall when they try to place a trade. If you're in the US or Canada, nothing on the Perps side will pay off for you, so don't start down that road.

Market data is not restricted — anyone can watch prices, funding rates and open interest. Watching is not trading.

If you're in an eligible country

You'll need a Polymarket account, and Perps collateral is pUSD (Polymarket's dollar balance) with a 10 pUSD minimum deposit into the dedicated Perps sub-account. During the rollout, access may still require a referral link or code — opening Perps through our link applies one automatically.

Before sizing any position, read our complete Perps tutorial and the risk math guide — leverage, hourly funding and liquidation mechanics deserve ten minutes of your attention before your money meets them.

If you're in the United States or Canada

Perps are simply not available to you, and we don't recommend workarounds: circumventing geo-restrictions violates Polymarket's terms of use and can forfeit funds and accounts. VPNs are not a loophole; they're a terms violation with your collateral at stake.

What US readers *can* do: Polymarket operates a separate, CFTC-regulated US venue for event contracts (prediction markets — fully collateralized, no leverage). It runs under US derivatives regulation and is itself unavailable in a handful of states (Arizona, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, Montana, Nevada and Ohio, per reporting on the US launch). Polymarket's site steers US visitors toward the US product automatically. If leveraged trading is specifically what you're after, the US-legal route is CFTC-regulated venues that offer perpetual-style futures to US customers — a different landscape entirely, and one where regulated exchanges like Kraken and Coinbase have launched US products in 2025–2026.

Will this change?

Polymarket has been pursuing regulatory approval for leveraged products in the US (reported mid-2026), and its US event-contracts venue shows the company wants US customers inside the regulated tent. Nothing is approved for US Perps as of September 2026. We'll update this page as the restricted list moves — Polymarket's geographic-restrictions documentation is the final word, and it can change without notice.

Eligibility note: Polymarket blocks Perps order placement in the United States and Canada (per its official documentation as of September 2026), and the main platform carries separate restrictions in the UK, Australia and elsewhere. If you're in a restricted region, Perps won't be tradable for you — and circumventing geo-restrictions violates Polymarket's terms.

Risk notice: Perps are leveraged derivatives. Funding costs accrue hourly, liquidation can close your position automatically, and you can lose your entire deposit — liquidation is not a guaranteed stop-loss. Nothing here is investment advice. Restrictions cited from docs.polymarket.com/perps as of September 2026. We may earn a commission when you sign up through links on this site — this never affects our coverage.
